Dubai Metro overview

The Dubai Metro is a driverless metro system operating in Dubai. There are two lines on the Dubai Metro: the Red Line and the Green Line. The Red Line has 29 stations and the Green Line has 18 stations. Passengers can transfer between lines at Union Station or BurJuman Station.

Each train has five carriages. On the train, there is a Gold Class section (first class with leather seats) as well as a women and children only section.

Dubai Metro timings

Red Line:
Saturday to Wednesday: 5:30 a.m. – 12:00 a.m.
Thursday: 5:30 a.m. – 1:00 a.m.
Friday: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m.

Green Line:
Saturday to Wednesday: 5:50 a.m. – 12:00 a.m.
Thursday: 5:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m.
Friday: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m.

Dubai Metro ticket information

To travel on the Dubai Metro you need a nol Card or a nol Red Ticket. Cards must be tapped at the gate when you enter and exit the metro. The fare will automatically be deducted from your card when you exit the metro.

• Nol Red Ticket: For tourists and visitors
Price: 6 AED (includes 4 AED credit)

• Nol Silver Card: For frequent travelers
Price: 25 AED (includes 19 AED credit)

• Nol Gold Card: For first class travelers
Price: 25 AED (includes 19 AED credit)

• Nol Blue Card: A secure personal card for frequent travelers
Price Regular: 70 AED (includes 20 AED credit)
Price Gold: 80 AED (includes 20 AED credit)

Dubai Metro Fares

The price for a fare depends on the number of tiers traveled.

Tier 1: Travel within one zone or less than 3 kilometers.

Tier 2: Starts in one zone and ends in a neighboring zone.

Tier 3: Crosses three or more zones.

Luggage Policy on Dubai Metro

Passengers can take up to two suitcases.
