Ibn Battuta Mall overview

The Ibn Battuta Mall is the world’s largest themed mall inspired after the explorer Ibn Battuta. The mall is composed of six courts themed after places Ibn Battuta explored: China, India, Persia, Egypt, Tunisia and Andalusia. There are almost 400 stores located inside the mall as well as 50 restaurants and cafes. The mall also has an IMAX theater, a bowling alley, a 5-star hotel and a children’s entertainment center.

Getting to Ibn Battuta Mall

Location: Adjacent to Sheikh Zayed Road between Interchanges 5 and 6.

By car

While driving on Sheikh Zayed Road you will see the mall’s entrance between Interchanges 5 & 6.

By metro

 Take the Red Line to the Ibn Battuta station.

Mall metro connection at the Ibn Battuta Mall

In August 2016 a new metro link opened between the Ibn Battuta Mall metro station and the Ibn Battuta Mall. The walkway allows passengers to directly access the mall.

Courts at the Ibn Battuta Mall

China Court

Step into Imperial China at this court in the Ibn Battuta Mall. High ceilings decorated with intricate motifs and marble columns are the defining features of this court. There is also a large Chinese junk ship on display.

India Court

This dome shape court displays architecture from India’s Mughal period. In the front of the court sits a large Elephant Clock which has an animated show every hour to display the time.

Persia Court

This court also features a large dome decorated with intricate, colorful designs. High arched passages and mosaic walkways show the beautiful elements from ancient Persia.

Egypt Court

Ancient Egypt comes to life in this court adorned with lanterns and papyrus columns. The walls are painted with large hieroglyphics and the court is studded with palm trees.

Tunisia Court

This court is modeled after the coastal towns in Tunisia. It features mosaic tiles, stucco facades and stained glass windows.

Andalusia Court

The Andalusia Court has a star shaped ceiling and large arched walkways. It also features terracotta tiles and red stone walls.
