Hot Air Balloon Crash in Sharjah Leaves Six People Severely Injured

Six people have been injured in a hot air balloon crash in Sharjah. The accident occurred in the Al Madam area in the Sharjah desert.

Five tourists from and the balloon captain were in the hot air balloon at the time of the crash. Paramedics and an air ambulance arrived at the scene after being notified about the crash at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The tourists were taken to Al Qassimi Hospital. The captain, who sustained severe injuries, was airlifted by helicopter to the hospital.

Police are currently investigating why the hot air balloon crashed. Ahmed bin Darwish, director of the central region police station said, "The speed of the wind or fault in the air balloon could be the cause of the  accident; we can't determine it until the investigation is completed.”
