Dubai's newest megaproject revealed on YouTube

The Dubai Lighthouse featured in the Dubai Harbor.

The Dubai Media Office just released a video displaying their newest megaproject—The Dubai Harbor. Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, said the Dubai Harbor, "represents a unique and innovative new addition to the region’s tourism landscape".

The video explains the harbor will be a, “world-class waterfront destination that adopts a culture of innovation and offers the highest standards of luxury. “The 20 million square foot project will feature Skydive Dubai as well as Dubai International Marine Club. Streets of the Dubai Harbor will be used as a formula circuit track.

The harbor will include the largest marina in the Middle East which will be home to a port for major cruise lines. There will also be a shopping mall, event arena, residential buildings, hotels, offices and retail stores at the harbor.

At the entrance of the harbor will be a 135-meter-tall lighthouse called the Dubai Lighthouse. This iconic building will be home to a luxury hotel as well as an observation deck.

The project is being developed by the company Meraas, and is expected to take four years once construction starts. The location of the Dubai Harbor will be between Jumeirah Beach Residence and Palm Jumeirah off King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street.
